Dear Parish Family,
To honor the 100th Anniversary of our beloved parish of St. Andrew, we have commissioned a hand-painted icon entitled “Holy Protectors of South Bend.”
This amazing icon places Christ at the center, flanked by the Virgin Mary (Theotokos) and our patron, St. Andrew. In St. Andrew’s arms rests a miniature image of our own church temple, complete with its distinctive dome. The Theotokos holds a likeness of our cherished Holy Dormition Chapel, while the background features the skyline of South Bend with several recognizable landmarks.
On Vasilopita Sunday (January 25th), this historic icon will be blessed after the Divine Liturgy and placed in our Narthex for all of 2026. Afterward, it will remain permanently in the church entryway for veneration—an enduring spiritual treasure for generations to come. We extend heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to making this legacy possible!
To allow parishioners and friends to bring a piece of this celebration into their homes, the bookstore will begin offering high-quality copies of the icon on Vasilopita Sunday.
